Spartak Moscow head coach Juan Carlos Carcedo reflected on his team’s progress and the challenges ahead. “When we arrived, the task was to improve the team’s standing in the league. The players are working hard, they believe in themselves, and they give everything on the pitch. The supporters are pleased, and we aim to bring them even more joy in the remaining matches of the season,” Carcedo stated.

When asked if his current stint at Spartak represents the toughest challenge of his coaching career, he responded: “In every club there are challenges and expectations from fans and management. You have to work hard, and ultimately it all comes down to results. I believe Spartak represents the toughest challenge so far.”

Carcedo also confirmed he stays in touch with fellow coach Unai Emery. “We exchanged messages just a couple of days ago. I always follow his work and am delighted for him.”

Spartak currently sit in fourth place in the Russian Premier League standings with 51 points after 29 rounds, just two points behind Lokomotiv with one game left in the 2025/26 season.
