Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly identified Monaco youngster Maghnes Akliouche as the ideal candidate to replace Lee Kang-in, who is expected to leave the club this summer in search of more playing time.

According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, the South Korean midfielder is likely to depart the Parc des Princes during the upcoming transfer window, prompting PSG to scout potential successors. The club’s hierarchy has now pinpointed Akliouche, one of Monaco’s most promising talents, as the top target to fill the void.

Journalist Sacha Tavolieri of L’Equipe reported that PSG’s management has already initiated official contact with Akliouche’s representatives. The move is being personally pushed by head coach Luis Enrique, who has been deeply impressed by the young attacker’s development and believes his style of play aligns perfectly with the team’s tactical setup.

Akliouche, like Lee, is a left-footed player capable of operating both as a winger and an attacking midfielder. His versatility allows him to drift between central and wide areas, making him a similar tactical asset to the Korean star.

With the 2026 World Cup on the horizon, Lee faces a crucial summer to secure a prominent role at a top club. Reports suggest that PSG are wary of competition from Premier League giants, as several English sides have been monitoring Akliouche’s performances throughout the season. Monaco, aware of the player’s rising value, are prepared for record-breaking negotiations, given their need to balance the books.

Akliouche remains under contract with Monaco until 2028, giving the Ligue 1 club a strong negotiating position. However, both PSG and the player are reportedly keen on the transfer, increasing the likelihood of a deal being finalized this summer.

Should PSG secure Akliouche, Lee would be forced to find a new club to avoid being sidelined. The South Korean international has previously attracted interest from Atletico Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur. Without a move, he risks spending next season on the bench, accumulating trophies but struggling for game time.
